Sinochem International has released its first Climate Change Response Report, announcing a commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, a decade ahead of China’s national target.

The report is the first corporate climate-action report in China’s chemical industry prepared in accordance with climate-related disclosure standards.

Drawing on guidance including the International Sustainability Standards Board’s IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures and the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s latest draft guidelines for sustainability reporting, the report is structured around four pillars: governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets. It provides stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of the company’s climate ambitions, strategic roadmap, practical actions and progress in advancing climate initiatives.
